Open Question: Is it illegal to crop newborn puppy ears yourself?
I breed both cane corsi and caucasian ovcharkas. Neither breed needs taping to help ears stand. And for ovcharkas, it is common place in Russia where they are native, for the ear to be scissor cut a day or two after birth by the breeder.
I do not crop any puppies that I breed unless they are going to working homes. I crop all my own dogs because we live on a working farm and my dogs are working animals. ( it is much less painful to crop a pup early that for an adult dog to have an ear bitten off by a hog ) I have been doing the cropping of my Ovcharkas myself for 3 yrs now with no issues what so ever. I recently came upon a legal document that stated tail cropping and dew-claw removal where I live (Canada) is legally allowed to be done by anyone as long as the puppy is under 10 days old. After that a veterinarian must do it. My question is whether the same time frame applies to ear cropping? If no or yes please be able to provide a link to prove it. I am not asking whether or not you agree with cropping or not.
And I am not just asking about public opinion- I want ‘legal’ information.

BTW- Spaying a bltch is a much more complicated and risky surgery than ear cropping. Spaying deprives the female of hormones needed for growth and removes the entire uterus and ovaries. A dog uterus is extremely large and has two horns. Much bigger op that a hysterctomy in humans and ask any woman who has had one- she would have said having tips of ears cut off would have been much easier.
No one has any proof that this is illegal yet. Please provide a link to support your stance. You people who are just saying this probably would say it’s illegal to dock a puppy tail at home —- but it’s not!!!

Above is the painful and long procedure a vet uses. Below is a fast home dock. And NO vets DO NOT use anaesthesia. It is too risky because the pup is too small. Home docking is far more humane!

Home docks are way better.

When I crop my dogs ears at 2 days old there is almost no blood and they do not need stitches. If it is illegal than how come there are websites that sell puppy ear clamps?
Amerz- Yes I have breed mentors- they are in Russia where this is the way they crop ears. Even this Ovcharka breeder in Montana staes on their website that this is how to crop the ears.http://www.courageouscaucasians.com/index.html
For this rare breed this is just how it is done! And btw my dogs are working dogs, they are bred for work ability not how they perform in a show ring which to me is stupidity.

Open Question: dead babies in my dream?
My dreams are weird but interesting i enjoy them a lot but what could they mean?
I had this dream last night and ill interpret it the best i can from memory.

WHY ME???

First I found my self at some sort of event. A lot of people were their. I was with a friend of mine at the time but I forgot who it was.
The event looked some what like Disneyland.
Their were activities and roller coasters and all this stuff.
People even lived on the site of the event.
I lived right down the street from it.
The weird thing is that it was the same apartment I live in now except everything was different. The streets were different, the stores, just the overall atmosphere was different!
I really don’t know what I was doing but I know I was tripping off of the event and were I lived at.
The event was BIG!
Almost bigger than Disneyland but it was so unorganized.
More like a Carnival.
In this dream I found myself having a good time at this carnival with my friend.
We were just chilling
Then I happened to notice a trailer.
It was a skateboard sponsor.
Me and my friend went inside the trailer to see what was going on and we saw all this skate ****!
It was like a warehouse.
Then while we were looking we saw some guy Named Swing Cat.
He was the manager of the skate company.
I asked him HEY MAN HOOK ME UP WITH SOME STUFF
He smiled and gave me a box of bearings!
The box had exactly 16 bearings in them.
8 for me
And
8 for my friend .
Bearings make the wheels spin.

I remember me and my friend started skating after that.
It was weird because everything would happen in phases.
Like a movie scene!
All the sudden while we were skating
A big crowd started to race toward this one section of the Carnival.
Everybody at the carnival was rushing toward this one section!
It was like a stampede!
It was so dam BIG!
Crowds and crowds of people everywhere laughing and smiling!
Singing! And dancing!
Little kids everywhere.
Adults shouting YEAHHH!!!
I barley made my way through the crowd.
I was trying to see what was going on.
I started to observe and noticed that everyone looked kind of brainwashed in a way. Their eyes were just so attentive on this one section of the carnival.

I had felt this weird feeling that something wasn’t right.
But everyone was so happy! And joyful!
It was like the big *** crowd of people were worshipping something or praising something.
The weird thing that got to me is that their were people in stands selling stuff inside of suitcases.
Their were curtains covering a little Zoo farm.
Their were curtains covering every store!
But before the crowd came all the stores were open and their were no curtains.
I wanted to look inside the curtains but something told me not to.
At this point I wasn’t scared but confused.
(Let me note that their were pictures of butterflys on the curtains).
Somehow I found a way out from this strange event.
And on my way home the streets looked like a disaster had happened!
The streets looked like it had been hit by a bomb.
Poverty was off the charts.
I came across a frog!
It was a toad!
And so I caught it and put it in my pocket If I can remember.

After I put the toad in my pocket. I continued my way down the streets around my home.
Their were scraps of broken rubble scattered all over.
Their were no cars
And it was nighttime.
Some street lights didn’t work.
All the sudden something inside me told me to look in the scrap piles.
So I looked and what I saw was very disturbing to me.
DEAD BABIES CUT UP INTO PIECES.
It had looked like somebody was having a baby but instead of going through the proper procedures and cleansing she left the baby their and went off to the parade/carnival to worship something!
I had found one baby with an umbilical cord in his mouth. It might have been that or a tube.
It was quite strange to me.
Their was blood everywhere. The streets looked like a dump!
I managed to find my way home and my mother was their.
I had forgotten what she said but their was no sign of my little brother at the time.
I didn’t hear of no one from my family except my mom who was right their next to me.
I put the frog in the water outside in my patio next to my turtle.
I went to my room and fell asleep.
I woke up and checked on the frog and it Turned into a baby cricket!!!!
It was weird though because the cricket looked dead at first then when I held the container up it moved like a frog!
