Resolved Question: Is Ghost hunting here bad? (read description)?
I have one place to Ghost hunt. It’s out in the woods and it is not private property or trespassing. There is 1 gravestone in that area. No one knows about it. I read the description on the gravestone it said george and then had a really long german name it said born 1850 died 1920. It was fallen over and very old and I had a very creepy feeling and just left the place right then. I did some research on the guy and it said he emigrated from germany to wisconsin. And later found out that there is a house nearby that was his house. I know the people that live there because they go to our church. I was wondering that if the family let me ghost hunt there. Then would that be bad or disrespectful to???
Resolved Question: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MY FIRST CHAPTER???!!!!?
OK. clarify. it has errors, i know of them, but the actual story line: what do you think
1-10???
Sorry it’s long, suggestions or anything, im still writin’ so…..
The forest was massive, enveloped in trees and brush. At twilight, it cast strange shadows on everything around it. The air was damp with humidity. No animals or sounds could be heard, other than that of Demeter, striding through the forest. She sensed something was wrong, and came to this forest. Trees, pulling her back, grabbing her golden hair on branches and catching her delicate feet at odd angles with their roots, urged her, in a tongue like a breeze swaying them, “don’tttttttt goooooooooooooooooo.” Demeter paced on, until she came to a dimly lit clearing. There, she saw, glinting in the fading sunset was a mirror, incrusted with jewels and ancient writing. Demeter glanced in the mirror, and saw a hand, trapped and desperate. She methodically searched for a face, coming upon another goddess, Aphrodite, trapped in her own mirror by the GodSlayers…
The scene shifted, waves pounding on the rocks in the entrance of the cave. A sharp incline separated the cave from the elements, water mostly. A cloaked figure had appeared in the entrance, taking out a golden pocket watch. It was nearing midnight quickly, the cave looking like the depths of the earth. Vili, having relieved his cloak, entered the cave with a quick stride, taking in his surroundings. He never missed anything, being the wise god, and felt the yearning tug of his brother deep inside the cave. He briskly walked on, coming to a pitch black part of the cave. Something was down here, he felt it. Minutes later, he came upon a tunnel, pitch black; with a dim light at the end… he entered the chamber like room, pace quickening. He glanced around, and located the source of light, a mirror, most likely his brother’s. It was jewel encrusted, with silver plating and ancient writing scrawled down the side. “Probably my brother’s, being god of appearance,” he thought. Vili glanced in it… and saw, to his fear, his brother, Vé, trapped in the mirror, along with others, their faces too vague to discern, as his brother took up the mirror, yearning to be free. The GodSlayers had taken his brother from him. They would pay. He reached deep in his pocket, and took out a book…
Ivan woke with a start, cold sweat forming across his neck. “Just a dream,” he panted. It had seemed so real! He became acutely aware of heaviness in his hands, and glanced down. In his hands was a mass of paper, with two hard sheets on each end. “What could it be?” he thought. He jumped down off of his bunk, careful of small creaks that could awake his brother below him. He turned on a small lamplight be the desk, opened the cover, and read, in fancy script,
Property of the unit of gods.
Beneath it, circled in a bright red stamp, was written,
Banned for mentioning godlike creatures, rule page 37:5 in the final declaration of rules, council approved.
An instinct had awoken in Ivan, and he began to read. Reading, of course, was forbidden. The Council had forbidden any form of worship or gods. They had formed the GodSlayers, and hunted anything worshipped. Although, as the last of the gods were captured, Ivan started having dreams. For one, he never got dreams, and these dreams seemed so vivid and lifelike… gods, in his dreams, were sending him messages, telling him he was a Reader, sending him scenes of disappearances, all in his mind. He knew they couldn’t be real, but now this book had just… appeared in his hands in the middle of the night.
He turned the page, and, there was one paragraph, under the chapter title, Gods. It read,
The gods are now something of an endangered species, hiding in the last safe places of the world, desperately trying to save themselves, and finding their kin…. The gods survive, Reader, and you must find them. Believe in them… and
The paragraph ended there, so Ivan flipped the page, and it was… blank. Ivan released a breath he hadn’t known he’d been holding. He had seen only two books before, one of the rules, the other, called Beginnings. His father, before he had died, had tried to give it to him, but the Council had found it, and banned it. He had never known his mother, and lived with his adult brother in a small hut. They were located on the middle of a mountain range, in a town thriving with bakeries and blacksmiths, theatres and hunting games.
Then, something happened to the book. It began… writing itself. In the same fancy script, it sped along, writing,
Reader, save us. You are the only one who could. The unit of gods is at an end, with few of us banned together for protection. Help us…
type if you read the whole of it plz
Thanks Drubert, but…
did you know that it was the trees saying that?

Resolved Question: My fiancee is so annoying! Should i give in to him or just say no?
Basically we had an argument on the phone about property. As many of you know my fiancee and I are quite jet setters. I have a work place in New York that i own while he has one in Barcelona which he owns (i made him sell his LA villa so he could get the Barcelona one as i made him realise that 3 homes for 1 man was silly and a waste of good money!) We also have a joint in Kentucky (his home town) that is suppose to be our home base for which we go when we aren’t working.
Now the argument was because i said that i want to buy a small flat in the village that my family live in in the UK as i want my own place when i am at home for work. He went mad as he said that he was only allowed 1 other place while i was allowed 2, how was this fair? I tried to explain to him that our home base is in his fricking home town so why would he need another flat there as well! He was being a baby and started to get all huffy about wanting a place in LA. He flying out there tomorrow for a week which is why i think he was all moody over it as he did quite like his LA villa. So i told him that if he wanted a place in LA then fine he could get one but i wanted nothing to do with it. I didn’t want to hear about it, stay at it nothing, I think it is a waste of money but if he wanted it fine. This got him in an even worse mood and he said that why couldn’t our base be in LA. Now it took us ages to decide on where to live as i wanted the cute village my family live in or a posh part of London in the UK and he wanted the sticks of Kentucky where his family live. We decided on Kentucky though and we were happy on that decsion, found a new build house near his parents, did it up, the works! So i started to tell him that he was an idiot and should of thought it through before we brought the place and spend money doing it up. Which he replied to as okay lets start again. I want to vote for LA to be our home base and to sell the Kentucky place and then just build a small house on his parents land for when we come over. Now i really wanted to put the phone down at this point but i didn’t. I told him that maybe he should of listened when i said what about LA. He said he was sorry but sees why this is a good idea now. I told him good night and i would speak to him tomorrow before his flight.
Now the thing is i do like the idea of LA. We have spend a winter out their when he had a villa in Carmel and we did love it. I just have spent alot of time doing up our house in Kentucky and moving everything in. He can be really annoying sometimes and i don’t want to give in. Should i stick my ground or give in and put our Kentucky place on the market and let him go house hunting in LA?
Argh men!
Sorry it is long! I am fuming!
Kentucky isn’t too bad. Minus the few run in’s i have had with some of the locals…
We do realise how lucky we are. We have worked very, very hard to have what we have!
