Open Question: Been married 8 years and I don’t get along with my husband anymore.?
I am 28 and my husband is 44. This is his first marriage. He lived at home until he was 35. We have been married for 8 years and have two children 3-6. I do everything. I mean everything. When we got married he pushed me to join the same clubs that his mother was in. So I did. I also had a job teaching mentally disabled children. So I was teaching and going to club meetings, cleaning house, ironing all his close, gardening (and I am allergic to grass. I break out in hives) Then I got pregnant with out first daughter. I showed up to work and found out that he called and told them I would not be returning. I didn’t say anything I let it slide by. We have a farm and two of my three dogs got after a calf and the next day he went out and shot them even while I was outside begging him not to kill them. He didn’t bat an eye he shot them and loaded them up in the back of his truck and off he went. I have never gotten over that, I am a big animal lover and I kills me to see people be mean or do harm to animals. I didn’t speak to him for days and when family members asked about my dogs I lied and said I didn’t know what happen to them. So my daughter was born. I had it in and out with my father. I had it in and out with his father (we didn’t get along at all.) Three months after my first daughter was born my father-in-law died. This is when it all started going down hill. My father-in-law left everything to my husband, we had to pay outrages inheritance tax on all the land. I tried to help my husband get everything organized pastures organized cattle organized. Just to make things easier, but all my ideas were stupid and didn’t help. In 2005 I got pregnant big surprise and my mother got a divorce after being married 24 years. After my second daughter was born in 2006 things just got crazier. Daughter #2 kept me up all night, but I was expected to get up every morning at 5:30 to get daughter # 1 dressed, breakfast and at school. Clean house do all his ironing. Yard work and whatever else.
Oldest goes to catholic school so the parents are expected to do a lot. I do all the volunteering for the both of us. He never shows up. Says he’s to busy. I do parent teacher meeting sign all the papers. I am also PTO president. I quit all the clubs after my husband started complaining that I was spending to much time in my clubs and associations. He put the couches and sitting chairs out of the house cause he said we didn’t know how to sit on them right. You are to sit straight up and down you can’t lay on the couch. Family get together’s are hell. My family does not like him. He’s German decent and is always talking about the iron race, and being pure. My mother lives and hour away and i take the kids down there to visit stay a weekend every two or three months. He told me I need to stop going down there. November 2008 I burned both hands 3rd degree burns. He told me to stay at my mother cause he could not help me, he left the two kids with his mother and continued to work. I got better by mid December and came home. He told people around town and my step-grandmother that I was down there parting and that’s all I do when I go to my mothers. It’s kinda hard to party when you have both hands wrapped and you have to change dressing 6 times a day. Yes yes partyville. In that time he killed my fish, would not turn on the heater for them. I got home bought new fish. He picks on my about my clothes, my hair color, going alittle gray so i color my hair, tells me to let it go natural save money. I am 28 I don’t want gray hair. The oldest is in team sports and hes mad cause her baseball team is a boy girl team, and it is a mixed race team. I have no probablem with it. The kids are great, the parents are really nice to. He didn’t even go to any of her soccer games last year. When he comes home at night i have the girls in bed by 8 and I am asleep to. I just don’t want to be bitched at. He will wake me up at 11 or 12 whatever time it is when he gets home ask why i didn’t take the trash out or to tell me the clothes in the washer are done and need to be put in the dryer. I have stopped ironing his clothes cause I wasn’t doing it to his liking. Everything I do he picks on. I have two pet rats I dare not leave them at the house when I am gone I am scared he will kill them. I took oldest on summer vacation, and he did away with her hamsters I took the rats with us, but when we got home the hamsters were gone. Fish and my dog and cat were still living. Spring break came along and my friend and I desided to take the kids skiing the rats stayed with my grandmother so all he had to do was turn on fish heater if it got to cold and feed dog and cats.I couldn’t take youngest because he said she was to young. So my mother was going to take her for a few days. Well he said no and that she was to young to spend time alone with her, that he doesn’t trust my new step father. (He doesn’t like him because hes a democrat) and they get in heated argumen
